WVZ         

Weekend

A flagship Grammy Week convening for independent music culture.

Co-created as WVZ MFG's annual flagship experience, WVZ Weekend brings together artists, DJs, executives, music supervisors, and cultural leaders for songwriting camps, showcases, awards, and community celebrations during music's biggest week. Centering Women and LGBTQIA+ creators, the weekend creates space for recognition, collaboration, and connection.

Outcomes

  • Co-produced three annual Grammy Week activations in Los Angeles

  • Convened 200–300 artists, executives, music supervisors, and cultural leaders annually

  • Led songwriting camps featuring 12 roster artists, resulting in two original songs, one commercial release, an active licensing opportunity, and ongoing creative collaborations

  • Produced sponsor media packages and branded content for partners including L'Oréal, Pioneer DJ, Max, Freehand Hotels, Insolito Tequila, and Tito's Handmade Vodka.

  • Produced all-women DJ lineups and LGBTQIA+ performance showcases

  • Honored independent music leaders including Aluna, Baron Davis, and Ts Madison

SoundWVZ Series is an annual convening designed to explore the technologies, platforms, and communities reshaping music culture. Through panels, gaming activations, DJ experiences, and professional development sessions, the series equips creators with tools to navigate emerging opportunities.

SoundWVZ Summer Camp is a recurring series of workshops, mixers, songwriting camps, and virtual summits aligned with key cultural moments including Black Music Month, Pride, Indie Week, and the Guild of Music Supervisors Conference. Designed for independent creators, the series blends community building with practical career development.

Outcomes

  • Convened partners including ASCAP, BMI, The MLC, DISCO, EVEN, Duetti, Vydia, and the Recording Academy

  • Facilitated direct relationships between artists and music supervisors

  • Educated 50 artists on royalties, catalog management, distribution, and sync

Through WVZ MFG, I design and facilitate songwriting camps that bring together artists, producers, and composers to create new work, strengthen creative networks, and expand licensable catalogs. Hosted in partnership with studios and cultural organizations across Los Angeles and New York, these sessions blend creative exploration with professional development.

Large-scale cultural programming and art direction for one of America's premier festivals.

Produced and supported live programming, art direction, and culturally responsive marketing at ESSENCE Festival, supporting experiences that connect audiences with artists, brands, and community through music and conversation.

Live event operations for a next-generation entertainment venue.

Supported live event operations at the second season of Intuit Dome, helping deliver fan experiences across concerts, sporting events, and large-scale cultural programming from the command bridge of one of the entertainment industry's most technologically advanced venues.
